| 摘要 | This paper provides a useful introduction to Eastern mystic thought and an analysis of the way in which Western utopian thinkers--specifically Marcuse--change the Yogic conception of the nirvanic state into a quite different notion. The Eastern effacement of ego becomes in the West political transformation. To reject Hobbes is not to achieve Eastern mysticism. In one sense, then, the article is a nice bit of cultural anthropology; in another, political theory. |
