| 摘要 | The giant iron statue of a lion is a significant ancient work of art in China, built in AD 953. Natural conditions and a complex history over a period of about a thousand years have created severe damage. This study assembled a complete three-dimensional (3D) digital model of the statue for its protection and scientific studies carried out during the restoration process. The model illustrates the successful application of 3D laser scanning technology for precise documentation of a monumental iron object. In addition, virtual restoration and reconstruction of the statue have been realized by means of manipulating the 3D model, thus the educational and academic value of the digital model is enhanced. The final appearance of the virtual statue may help increase understanding of the culture of previous centuries in China. La statue monumentale en fer représentant un lion, datant de 953, est un important travail d'art antique en Chine. L'exposition a l'environnement naturel et une histoire complexe sur une période d'environ un millier d'années ont créé de graves dommages. Cette étude a réuni un modèle numérique complet en trois dimensions (3D) de la statue pour servir de base à la protection et aux études scientifiques réalisées au cours du processus de restauration. Le modèle illustre l'application réussie de la technologie de numérisation laser 3D pour la documentation précise d'un objet monumental en fer. En outre, la restauration et la reconstruction virtuelles de la statue ont été réalisées en manipulant le modèle 3D, améliorant ainsi la valeur éducative et universitaire de la maquette numérique. L'aspect final de la statue virtuelle peut aider à accroître la compréhension de la culture des siècles passés en Chine. Die große Eisenstatue eines Löwen ist ein bedeutendes Werk der Kunst Chinas gefertigt im Jahr 953. Die natürlichen Bedingungen und eine komplexe Geschichte über etwa eintausend Jahre verursachten grosse Schäden. Diese Studie stellte ein komplettes dreidimensionales (3D) Digitalmodell der Statue zusammen, das ihrem Schutz dient; außerdem wurden während der Restaurierungs-Arbeiten wissenschaftliche Studien betrieben. Das Modell ist ein Beispiel für eine erfolgreiche Nutzung der 3D-Laser-Scanning-Technologie für die genaue Dokumentation eines monumentalen Eisenobjektes. Zusätzlich sind durch Manipulation des 3D-Modells eine virtuelle Restaurierung und die Rekonstruktionen der Statue realisiert worden, wodurch der erzieherische und akademische Wert des digitalen Modells erhöht wurde. Das resultierende Erscheinungsbild der virtuellen Statue könnte helfen, das Verständnis der Kultur früherer Jahrhunderte in China zu erweitern. La escultura gigante de un león en hierro es una obra de arte significativa de la antigua China, construida en 953 d.C. Tanto las condiciones naturales como su compleja historia durante un periodo de unos mil años han causado severos daños. Este estudio creó un completo modelo digital tridimensional (3D) de la estatua para su protección y para la realización de estudios científicos durante su proceso de restauración. El modelo pone de manifiesto la exitosa aplicación de la tecnología de escaneado laser 3D para una precisa documentación de un objeto monumental en hierro. Adicionalmente, se ha realizado una restauración virtual y una reconstrucción de la estatua manipulando el modelo 3D, con lo cual el valor académico y el educacional se ven aumentados de manera significativa. La apariencia final de la estatua virtual puede ayudar a incrementar el conocimiento de siglos anteriores en China. |
