摘要
The article is a concise report on the art historical as well as technical aspects of thang-ka paintings. It also describes briefly the traditional methods and materials employed in the execution of these paintings. The artists' materials described in the literature are compared with actual findings as a result of analysis of pigments, binding media and other materials involved in the execution of the thang-ka paintings. An outline of the causes of deterioration of thang-kas is also mentioned. Finally, an extensive account is given of the method of treatment carried out in the author's laboratory.
Le présent article est un compte rendu succinct des aspects artistiques, historiques aussi bien que techniques des peintures Thang-ka. Il décrit en outre les méthodes et matériaux traditionnels utilisés pour l'exécution de ces peintures. L'auteur compare les matériaux des artistes décrits dans la littérature aux découvertes faites à la suite d'analyses des pigments, des liants et autres matériaux utilisés pour l'exécution de ces peintures. Il mentionne également les causes de la détérioration de ces peintures. L'auteur termine par un exposé détaillé des méthodes de traitement utilisées dans le laboratoire.
Der Artikel is ein gedrängter Bericht über die kunsthistorischen wie auch die technischen Aspekte der Thang-ka-Gemälde. Er beschreibt darüber hinaus die traditionelle Methode und die Materialien, die bei der Herstellung dieser Gemälde verwendet wurden. Der Verfasser hat die Materialien der Künstler, wie diese in der Literatur beschrieben werden, mit den Ergebnissen der Analyse von Farbstoffen, Bindemitteln und anderen bei der Herstellung dieser Gemälde benützten Materialien verglichen. Ferner wird eine Übersicht über die Gründe, die zum Verfall dieser Gemälde führten, gegeben. Schliesslich erstattet der Verfasser ausführlich Bericht über die in seinem Laboratorium angewandten Behandlungsmethoden.
L'articolo contiene una relazione concisa degli aspetti storico-artistici e technici delle pitture Thang-ka. Si descrivono pure il metodo ed i materiali tradizionalmente adoperati nell'esecuzione di queste pitture. L'autore ha confrontato i materiali descritti nella letteratura con quanto ebbe effettivamente a constatare in seguito ad un'analisi di pigmenti, glutinanti ed altri materiali adoperati nell'esecuzione di tali pitture. Anche le cause dei deteriorazione di tali pitture vengono brevemente accennate. Infine è dato un ampio resoconto sul metodo di trattamento applicato nel laboratorio dell'autore.
El artículo es un informe conciso sobre los aspectos artísticos-históricos y técnicos de las pinturas Thang-ka. También describe el método tradicional y los materiales empleados en la ejecución de estas pinturas. El autor compara los materiales del artista descritos en la literatura con las comprobaciones actuales resultando del análisis de pigmentos, aglutinantes y otros materiales implicados en la ejecución de tales pinturas. Asimismo se menciona un resumen de las causas de deterioración de tales pinturas. Finalmente se da una relación extensa del autor sobre el método de tratamiento efectuado en el laboratorio del autor.
