| 摘要 | Anussati has the function of remembering past lives, but there are aspects that have not been examined in detail in previous studies. This study thoroughly examines the four nikāyas and analyzes the characteristics of anussati. As a conclusion, we find that anussati appears most often as a part of the idiom “wisdom of remembering past lives” （pubbenivāsānussatiñāṇa）, and is always accompanied by that fixed phrase in the context of remembering past lives. However, there are also cases in which past lives are remembered without using this “wisdom for remembering past lives,” but those appear sporadically within the four Nikāyas and are not linked to any fixed phrases. Also, when speaking about remembering past lives, sati and manasikāra, which may be compatible with anussati, are sometimes used. These words present in the four Nikāyas were also found to be compatible in the context of remembering past lives. |
