| 摘要 | In the Laṅkāvatārasūtra （LAS）, three key ideas revolve around the concept of the “Convergence of Three Conditions” （trisaṃgatipratyaya）: first, the criticism directed towards certain śramaṇas or brāhmaṇas in the second chapter; second, the description of how consciousnesses transitions through death and rebirth in the third chapter; and third, the elucidation of tathāgatagarbha and ālayavijñāna in the sixth chapter. Understanding this concept is pivotal for grasping these doctrinal positions in the LAS. However, traditional commentaries and modern scholarship have not been successful in clearly identifying the three conditions referred to in the LAS. In this article, the author focuses on elucidating this concept and its contextual meaning in the second chapter, where criticism is directed towards certain śramaṇas and brāhmaṇas who uphold this concept. By identifying the parallel content in the Savitarkāsavicārā bhūmiḥ of the Yogācārabhūmi, the author traces the source of the “Convergence of Three Conditions” back to a verse frequently found in the Nikāya/Āgama corpus, whose Pāli form is cakkhuṃ ca paṭicca rūpe ca uppajjati cakkhuviññāṇaṃ | tiṇṇaṃ saṅgati phasso |.... Accordingly, it can be inferred that the three conditions referred to here are “sense faculty （eye）, object （matter）, and （eye-）consciousness.” |
