摘要
경전은 성자의 가르침을 기록한 문헌을 지칭한다. 종교의 사상은 교조와 후래 제자들의 사상적 집적이라고 할 수 있다. 원불교 사상 또한 소태산 대종사의 사상과 소태산 대종사 재세 당시 제자들의 사상에 뿌리를 두고 이를 전승하는 후래 제자들의 노력이 집적된 산물이라 할 수 있다. 원불교 경전은 소태산 대종사의 친저에 가까운『정전』과 그의 사후 제자들이 소태산 대종사의 언행을 기록한 내용을 편집한『대종경』을 비롯한 7대 교서를 일컫는다. 이 가운데『정전』과『대종경』은 원불교의 ‘본경’으로 중시되고 있다. ‘원불교 100년’을 맞이하면서 원불교는 세계 보편종교를 지향하고 그에 상응하는 준비를 진행 중에 있다. 근래에 인류 사회가 다양하고 급격히 변화하고 교화의 범위가 세계화되면서 경전에 대한 재해석의 요청도 높아지고 있다. 이러한 요청들에 주목하면서 논의의 타당성을 확인하기 위해 경전 발전사를 유가 경전을 중심으로 간략히 검토하여 경전의 변화 역사를 살펴보았다. 원불교 교사와 교리에서도 그 근거를 찾아보고 현재 경전 해설서들의 현황을 살펴보았다. 오늘의 원불교는 궁극적 진리(일원의 진리)에 대한 끊임없는 긴장과 수행의 증험에 바탕한 반성과 성찰이 요구된다. 구도의 열린 정신과 실행의 열정이 새 종교 원불교의 생명임을 다시 확인할 필요가 있다. 동시에 교리에 대한 학문적 천착과 일관된 체계의 정립, 문화적 정착을 위한 노력이 필요하다. 이러한 시각에 입각하여 원불교 경전 주석의 첫 걸음으로 현재 진행되고 있는 경전의 주석 상황과 과제를 점검해 보고 전망을 예측해보았다. 경전의 재해석과 관련된 전초 작업의 하나가 될 것으로 생각된다.
The scripture of religion is a book of documents what the Great master had taught and shown to the followers. The thought of religion could be said that is the accumulation of what the Great master had thaught his disciples and what the followers and scholars who had researched and practised it has advanced. The thought of Won-Buddhism could be called the results of research and practise based on the thought of the Great Master Sotaesan and his disciples who had lived at that time and passed down from generation to followers who are following him. Won-Buddhism scripture is consisted of Jeong-Jeon(The Principle Book of Won-Buddhism) which is known as the Founding Master wrote it on his own initiative and Daejong-Gyoung(The Scripture of the Founding Master) which is written by his disciples after the Master death, and other five books. Jeong- Jeon and Daejong-Gyoung are the most important canon for Won-Buddhists as basic text. Becoming 100th anniversary of Won-Buddhism founding, Won-Buddhism orient to world general religion and Won-Buddhists are preparing for proportionate to their expectation. Everything has happened rapidly and diversly in this world since Won-Buddhism order had been founded. And Won-Buddhism has tried to share it’s thought with lots of country’s people. That’s why Won-Buddhists are asking re-interpretation of the scriptures. I researched into the history what the Confucianism texts have been advanced. I’m sure it would be a good way for me to confirm the scriptures have been advanced through the history of thought and Won-Buddhst’s asking of re-interpretation of the scriptures is proper. I studied the principles and history of Won-Buddhism for finding the authority in it and surveyed what is the present state of the interpretation books of the Won-Buddhism texts. In present Won-Buddhism, there are needed passion seeking after the ultimate truth(the truth of Il-Won-Sang) and introspection about the situation based on their own experience through the practise. Open mind to search after the ultimate truth and passion to realize the practice is the heart of Won- Buddhism as new religious movement. Besides, it is necessary to study deeply and widely about the principle, to formulate a scientific system of it and to make constant efforts for cultural settlement into world society. In this view point, I checked the situation that is going on interpretating on Won-Buddhism texts as the first step and predicted the prospects. I hope the work could be the advanced point of the re-interpretation of Won-Buddhism scriptures.
