| 摘要 | 오늘날 생태위기는 인류에게 지금까지와는 다르게 생태적으로 지속가능한 삶과 발전으로의 전환을 강하게 요구하고 있다. 이것은 직선적 성장이 아니라 순환적 사회로의 전환, 경제발전만이 아니라 환경과 인권, 평화를 동시에 고려한 경제성장으로의 전환이다. 또한, 양적 성장이 아니라 질적 성숙을 요구하고 있으며, 현세대보다 미래세대를 고려한 사회적 행동과 인간만이 아니라, 많은 생명의 삶까지를 고려한 민주주의를 요구하고 있다.
또한, 물질적 가치보다 정신적 발전을, 돈에 의한 행복이 아니라 관계에 의한 행복으로 전환을 요구하고 있다. 이처럼 기존의 발전, 성장, 행복에 대한 패러다임 전환 요청에 응해 마을을 기반으로 모색되는 계획공동체운동은 인류가 선택해야 하는 희망이자 대안적 미래의 생활양식으로 주목을 받고 있다.
이제까지 다양한 공동체가 시도되었다. 대부분 풀뿌리 지역을 기반으로 하며, 사람들끼리 협력과 협동을 중심으로 하며, 목적(목표)보다는 관계와 과정에 가치를 두며 생태적이고 순환적인 자립적 공동체가 모색되고 있다. 계획공동체(Commune, Intentional Community)나 공동주거공동체(Co-housing Community), 생태마을공동체(Eco-Village Community), 생산공동체(Workers Community), 네트워크공동체(Network Community) 등이 그것이다.
특히 가톨릭의 수도원 운동, 개신교의 종교 공동체, 불교의 지역공동체 및 수행공동체 모델은 미래지향적인 시도로 인정받고 있다. 이처럼 오늘날 한국사회는 다양한 종교적 전통을 기반으로 한 지역공동체 운동이 급속하게 증가하고 있으며, 불교도 지역공동체에서 중심적인 역할을 하기 위해 노력하고 있다.
The current ecological crisis strongly demands human beings to shift to a ecologically sustainable life and development model. It demands not just linear growth, but a circular society. The ecological crisis asks us to turn toward economic growth that considers not merely economy but also environment, human rights, and peace. In addition, it requires qualitative maturity above simple quantative growth. It calls for social behavior to consider not only the current generation but for future generations, and democracy in which life beings of the rest on the earth are considered equally.
It also cries for a shift spiritual development rather than material value, and a transition to happiness not through money, but in relationships. The regional and village-based Intentional community movement, which is sought at the request of a paradigm shift in existing development, growth and happiness, is drawing attention as a hopeful and alternative life style for the future of the mankind.
So far, various communities have been tried. Most of them are based on collaboration and cooperation among the people on the grass-roots dimension. These communities have tried ecologically circular and self-reliant communities aiming to promote relationships and process-oriented values rather than objectives-oriented outcomes. They include the Commune, the Intentional community, the Co-housing community, the Eco-Village community, the Workers' Community and the Network Community.
In particular, the models of Catholic monastery movement, Christian religious community, and Buddhist regional community and meditation community are the newly recognized examples of highly futureoriented attempts. Today, community movements on the basis of various religious traditions are rapidly increasing in Korean society, and in the same context Buddhism is also seeking to play a central role in the local community.
