| 摘要 | 조선 시대의 숭유억불 정책과 한반도에서 벌어진 수많은 전란의 역사 속에서 많은 사찰이 폐사되고 문화재는 유실되었다. 그러나 이에 관한 변변한 조사조차 하지 못하고 있는 것이 우리의 현실이다. 이런 실정에서 각 지방에 방치된 채 산재해 있는 문화재를 원래의 자리로 되돌리고, 원형을 복원하는 일은 어려울 수밖에 없다. 이 논문은 진천 용화사의 사례를 제시함으로써 유실 문화재의 보존과 관리에 대한 문제점을 드러내고, 그에 대한 대안을 마련하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 진천 용화사와 용화사 경내의 문화유산을 살펴본 후, 용화사 주변에 산재한 불교 관련 유물의 실태를 기술하였다. 특히, 이 논문은 유실되었던 석조 보살입상을 용화사 경내로 봉안하게 된 과정과 아직도 돌려받지 못한 사찰 인근의 석조 부재들을 소개함으로써 폐사지의 유실 문화재 관리와 관련해 중요한 사례를 제공하였다. 그리고 그 결과를 토대로 문화재 관리와 관련해 국내·외에 유출된 문화재의 환수 노력과 그에 대한 평가, 그리고 유실 문화재의 보존과 관리를 위한 불교계의 대안에 대해 논의하였다. During the political repression of the Joseon Dynasty and the numerous wars in the Korean peninsula, many temples were destroyed and cultural assets were lost. However, it is our reality that we have not even been able to investigate this. In this situation, it is very difficult to restore and take it to its original location cultural assets that has been neglected and scattered in each region. This paper shows the problems of the conservation and management of the lost cultural properties by presenting the examples of Jincheon Yonghwa-sa Temple and tried to provide an alternative to them. For this purpose, this paper first examined Jincheon Yonghwa-sa Temple and its cultural heritage, and then described the actual state of Buddhist artifacts scattered around Yonghwa-sa Temple. In particular, this paper provided an important case for the management of the lost cultural property of the Buddhist temple destroyed by introducing the stone artifact near the Buddhist temple which has not yet been returned and the process of the return of the lost stone Buddhist statue. Based on the results, we discussed the efforts of the recovery of the cultural assets spilled in and out of Korea, the evaluation for such efforts, and the Buddhist alternatives for conservation and management of the lost cultural assets. |
