摘要
이 논문의 목적은 세계화와 양극화라는 거시적 사회변동의 흐 름 속에서 불교사회운동이 지향해야 할 좌표를 설정하는 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저 세계화와 양극화에 대한 기본적 이해와 그로 인한 사회문제의 양상들을 살펴보았다. 이어서 불교사회운동의 새로운 패러다임으로 평가되는 ‘깨달음의 사회화 운동’이 갖는 의미를 검토하고, 세계화와 양극화와 관련된 불교사회운동의 사례로 ‘지 구촌공생회’와 ‘함께일하는재단’의 활동을 고찰하였다. 그런 연후 에 세계화 및 양극화 시대의 불교사회운동은 개개인의 일상적 삶 과 신행이 통합된 서원불교를 지향할 필요가 있음을 제안하였다.
The purpose of this paper is to set the coordinates of Buddhist social movements in the flow of macro-social change such as globalization and polarization. To do this, we first looked at the basic understandings of globalization and polarization and the social aspects of them. Then, we examined the meaning of ‘movement of socialization of enlightenment’ which is evaluated as a new paradigm of Buddhist social movement and examined the activities of ‘global community cooperative society’ and ‘foundation working together’ as examples of Buddhist social movement related to globalization and polarization. After that, the Buddhist social movement in the era of globalization and polarization suggested that there is a need to pursue Aadjuration (praṇidhāna) Buddhism, which integrates individual daily life and religious life.
