Marquees in Buddhism sculptures are of great significance in Buddhism and have long been kept shadow. Based on the origination, religious connotations and historical revolutions, we have found that Buddhism sculptures with marquees were used in places of consecration. The confirmation of marquees can provide evidences for the religious features of Buddhism sculptures, enrich the content of traditional Buddhism arts, and fill the gaps of fine arts and religious studies.
