| 摘要 | This article looks at the similarities and differences between Navajo sandpaintings and Tibetan sand maṇḍalas and the roles that each play in the healing process. By comparing Navajo and Tibetan philosophies, causes of illness, and theories of healing, a number of striking similarities that exist between Navajos and Tibetan Buddhists are brought forth. The goal of this article, however, is not to put forth a theory of the racial similarities between Navajos and Tibetans; rather it is to provide a greater understanding of each tradition. |
