| 摘要 | 쉬리 오로빈도의 사상은 베단타와 밀교를 중심으로 진화론 등의 여타의 사상을 조화시킨 통합적 사상이다. 이러한 그의 사상에 있어서 철학적 측면은 우선 영적인 경험에 근거하여 그가 구성한 궁극적 실재로부터 초심(超心, Supermind)를 거쳐 마음, 생명, 그리고 물질에 이르는 것으로 보는 형이상학적 성격의 통합적 우주론, 그리고 그러한 틀 안에서의 퇴전(退轉), 진화, 하강 및 초심적 현현이 중심이 된다. 그리고 우리는 이러한 내용의 개요를 해석을 보태어 보다 현대적이고 보편적인 성격의 것으로 재구성할 수 있다.이렇게 재구성한 오로빈도의 통합적 사상의 현대적 의의는 현대의 켄 윌버와 같은 이의 통합적 사상과 비교해볼 때 더욱 분명하게 드러난다. 윌버의 사상은 한 때의 오로빈도의 영향을 극복하고 근대와 후기근대 사상의 장점을 더욱 강조하여 수용하면서 이제는 이른바 통합적 탈형이상학의 입장에까지 이르고 있다. 그러나 오로빈도의 것과 같은 구제론적(救濟論的) 사상이 구체적인 시공(時空)의 장(場) 속에서 그 구제의 소임을 실제적으로 다하기 위해서는 시대적으로 유관한 측면을 끊임없이 점검하고 혁신해 나아가야한다. Sri Aurobindo's is an integral thought that harmoniously synthesized Vedanta, Tantra, the theory of evolution, and the like. The philosophical aspect of his thought is characterized by an integral cosmolology of metaphysical nature that he developed based on his spiritual experience, which spans the whole gamut from the Reality with and without attributes through the Supermind to Mind to Life, and finally to Matter. One may reconstruct its outline adding suitable interpretations when needed as something more contemporaneous and universal. The contemporary significance of thus reconstructed integral thought of Aurobindo is revealed more explicit when it is compared with such an integral thought as Ken Wilber's. Aurobindo's influence on Wilber seems to be enormous and it is seen in such aspects as integral evolutionism and the higher stages of consciousness, and so on. However, it is also where the task for Aurobindo's thought is revealed. Wilber's thought, also based on overall experiences, overcame the earlier influence from Aurobindo, and has been so integrating the merits of the modern and the postmodern as now to take the position of so-called Integral Post-Metaphysics. Whether his presentation of such a standpoint is sufficiently justified may require a separate careful examination. All the same, in order for a soteriological thought like Aurobindo's could actually fulfill its duty of salvation in this concrete setting of time and space those aspects of his thought that are relevant to the changing times will have to be ceaselessly examined and thus reformed. And it will be just the basic task for Aubrobindo's thought or thus its followers at any time. |
