| 摘要 | Introduced to Korea during Unified Silla period in eighth century, the advent of Zen Buddhism could be considered as the biggestevent in the history of Korean culture. Leading to grand innovation in Buddhist ideologies, its impact was spread out ni al cultural aspects Localized in China, Zen Buddhism emphasizes experience rather than training with sutras. tI emphasizes Buddhism powered by all people and encourages their self-attainment in Buddhahood. Original Buddhism from India had been changed into something Chinese. When Zen Buddhism was established in China, all parts of Buddhist culture started to take Chinese color even stronger than before. The so-called 'descent of Lao Tzu and Zhuangzi,' Zen Buddhism was formed upon the basis of Lao Tzu and Zhuangzi philosophies. In the middle of their philosophies is the concept of 'Gi(fü.' It has been an academic issue over time and space not only in China but also in Korea. Recognizing that Gi as Ryeong(a), I would like ot use the term Reonggi(Sh) instead. Such Ki or Ryeong was represented in most formative arts and Buddhist statues were considered as Ryeong(S itself. This is what happened ni art works rather than in documentary records, an abstract concept followed by deduction. The change occurred for formative arts in China But new aspects of formative arts that are different from Chinese forms, were arranged and spread over in Korea 1 In the mideighth century, Vairocana in the form of Buddha is created earlier than China. Then Vairocana becomes the main Buddha for Nine Schools of Korean Zen Buddhism The middle part of pedestal forms the pattern of clouds and Yong(fiB. However, it is a maximized representation of Ryeonggi instead of clouds and Yong as a real object. It symbolizes the Ryeonggi-Metamorphosis of Buddha. Buddha is born from the lotus, and lotus is born from clouds and yong. Therefore Buddha is fundamentally b o r from t h eYong that stands for ' G ' or 'Ryeong,' the core of Asian cosmology. The pattern of clouds and Yong shows the Ryeonggi-Metamorphosis for Yong. Therefore, ti means that Buddha is another incarnation of Ryeonggi. 2. At the same time, stupas for monks were splendidly developed. In the meantime, Buddhist statues and stupa for Buddha start to show a less formative character. For stupas for monks, the pattern of clouds and Yong is carved to symbolize the Yeonggi-Metamorphosis 3. Accordingly, unlike China, the support for monuments changes from the face of a turtle to that of Yong. Monuments which praised the monk's achievements show the image of Yeonggi-Metamorphosis as wel. Simultaneously, the head part of the monument is carved with dynamic nine Yongs. 4. The boom of tea ceremony leads a big change in ceramic art. 5. Portraits of high monks are numerously painted An independent hall is built for the sculptures of sixteen Arhats inside the temple 6. This tendency is even more intensified during Joseon period. In architecture, Gongpo(order) which stands for the metamorphosis of Yeonggi is established. Sculpture of the p a t t e r of Yeonggi in the form of Yong and vines are solemnly decorated inside and outside the building. 7. Finaly, Gwaebul(gigantic painting) is bom which represents the iconography of Buddha's Yeonggi-Metamorphosis painted on the huge canvas. According to the concept of 'Trikaya (the three bodies of Buddha' of Huineng's Platform Sutra of the Sixth Patriarch, Trikaya and the Crowned Buddha were major themes in this painting. The influence of Zen Buddhism is reflected here. 8. In Buddhist sculpture made during Joseon period, diadems and heavenly clothes are dynamically represented with patterns of Yeonggi. Above are results of changes occurred in all parts of Buddhist art from sculpture, architecture, paintings, ceramic art, by the influence of Zen Buddhism It is based on the Yeonggi-Metamorphosis from the brand-new point of view suggested by the writer after studying tomb murals of Gogury |
