| 摘要 | Les critiques portées contre le bouddhisme sont apparues rapidement après son introduction en Chine et furent justifiées tant par une idéologie difficile à comprendre, que par le comportement des moines qui tentaient de se soustraire à l'autorité impériale et dont le mode de vie choquait l'opinion. L'article analyse, à l'intérieur des textes de polémique anti-bouddhique médiévale, les thèmes spécifiquement anticléricaux, notamment les mœurs des bonzes et le danger qu'ils présentent pour l'État du fait d'une perte de contrôle de l'autorité impériale. Pour mieux comprendre leurs enjeux, il rapproche les textes médiévaux des thématiques anticléricales en Occident. Ces critiques, qui constituent des stéréotypes transmis de siècle en siècle, ont abouti à un renforcement du contrôle de l'État sur le clergé. Anti-Buddhist criticism appeared soon after the religion's introduction in China. It was caused both by its novel and complex ideology and by the monks'behaviour, who tried to escape imperial authority and who lived according to rules deemed offensive by public opinion. This article analyses, within the corpus of anti-Buddhist medieval polemical texts, the specifically anticlerical themes, notably concerning the monks'mores and the danger they posed to a state threatened by an erosion of its authority. For a better understanding of the agenda behind such criticism, these polemical texts are compared with the Western anticlerical tradition. The medieval anti-Buddhist rhetoric has been adopted ever since as anticlerical stereotypes, which were instrumental in the state's efforts to control the clergy. |
