| 摘要 | 이 연구는 최근 국내에 들어온 이주민들 중 불교가 발달한 지역인 동남아시아 출신의 이주민들이 대부분이라는 점에 주목하고, 불교 성향의 이주민들을 위하여 한국 불교의 역할과 대응 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 우선, 이주민들 이 새로운 환경에 적응하는 것을 지원하는 종교의 역할과 영향을 살펴보았고, 불교단체가 이주민들의 사회 적응을 지원하는 역할과 위상에 대해 알아 보았다. 그리고 불교의 이주민 지원 활동에 사상적 기반이 될 수 있는 화쟁사상과 대표적인 이주민 지원 활동 프로그램인 템플스테이사업을 이주민 유형 별로 분석해보았다. 불교단체의 지원 활동은 이주민들이 한국사회에 적응하면서 겪는 어려움들을 주체적으로 극복하는데 도움을 줄 수 있다고 판단하였다. 이주민들이 한국사회에 적응함에 있어 가장 필요로 하는 것은 취업과 관련된 정보, 한국어와 한국문화에 대한 이해였다. 그런 점에서 불교단체가 제공하는 템플스테이 프로그램은 내국인들과 달리 이주민들의 필요와 요구 에 맞춰 다양한 콘텐츠로 설계될 필요가 있다. 이주민 사회의 특성을 고려한 템플스테이 모형은 이주민들에게 체계적이고 지속적인 지원을 제공함으로 써 이들이 우리 사회에 쉽게 정착하는 프로그램을 만드는 데 효과적인 기반 을 제공할 것이다. This paper will pay attention to the fact that most of the immigrants who come to South Korea are from South East Asia where Buddhism is flourishing, and propose the direction of S. Korean Buddhism for Buddhist immigrants. First of all, the paper examined roles and effects of religion which support the immigrants to adapt themselves to their new surroundings, and then, specifically Buddhism in depth. Secondly, the idea of Hwa-Jaeng which can be based for Buddhist support activities for the immigrants was studied, and Temple-stay business activities are analyzed by types. The Buddhist support activities can help the immigrants be independent in overcoming challenges they face. What the immigrants essentially need to settle in S. Korea are Korean language and understandings of Korean culture. Thus, Temple-stay program provided by Buddhist institute should include a variety of contents reflecting the immigrants`` needs and demands, which definitely are different from Koreans. This Temple-stay model considering the traits of immigrants`` societies will establish the effective foundation on making programs for immigrants`` settlement with systemic and sustainable supports. |
