| 摘要 | 중국 근대사상가 량수밍(梁漱溟)은 1916년 『구원결의론』을 『동방잡지』에 발표하여 학술계에서 많은 관심을 받았다. 이 글에서 량수밍은 일종의 생명 철학을 전개했다. 그는 인생이 고통을 감각했고, 그것을 극복하는 길은 인간과 세계의 본질에 대한 이해라고 생각했다. 그는 세계를 에테르의 와동으로 이해했고, 그것을 『기신론』의 홀연염기설과 대비시켰다. 그리고 인간의 삶을 의식의 흐름으로 파악했고, 유식학과 베르그손 철학을 동원해서 이 점을 해설했다. 『구원결의론』은 량수밍의 처녀작으로 초창기 자신의 불교 공부 성과를 고스란히 반영하고 있었다. 홀연염기설과 와동설을 통해서 세계 출현을 설명했고, 유식학의 상속 개념과 베르그손의 지속 개념을 통해서 인간 존재를 설명하고 했다. 이렇게 량수밍의 초창기 불교이해는 고통 타파라는 목적에서 시작했지만 그것은 서구적 보편 지식을 동원하여 불교를 보편화하는 과정이었다. Modern Chinese thinker, Liang Shuming received a keen attention from the academic world when he published the “Treatise on Finding the Foundation and Resolving the Doubt” (Jiuyuan jueyi lun) in The Eastern Miscellany (Dongfang zazhi). He set forth a kind of philosophy of life in this work. He envisioned life as suffering and thought that the way to overcome this suffering is by understanding the essence of human and the world. He delved into the theory of ether (or aether) to understood the world and compared it to the notion of sudden arising of thoughts (huran nianqi) in the Awakening of Faith in the Mahayana. Human life was apprehended in terms of the stream of consciousness, and he elaborated on this point by using Yogacara Buddhism, in other words, the consciousness-only school and Bergson`s philosophy. The Treatise on Finding the Foundation and Resolving the Doubt was Liang`s first article, which reflected his accomplishment in the initial stage of his Buddhist studies. The birth of the world was explained by the theory of vortex and sudden arising of thoughts, and human existence was described by the concepts of moment-to-moment continuum (Sanskrit: samtati) in Yogacara Buddhism and continuity in Bergson`s philosophy. Liang Shuming`s understanding of Buddhism was first conceived with the purpose of breaking away from the suffering, but in the course of this, he universalized Buddhism by bringing in the universal philosophy from the West. |
