그리고 그 목표에 도달하기 위한 수행의 태도로 4념처관은 ‘sampajano-satima(철두철미한 알아차림과 깨어있음)’과 ‘anissita(떨어져서 바라봄)’를, 아슈땅가 요가는 abhyasa(자각의 상태를 유지하려는 노력)와 vairagya(떨어져서 바라봄)를 제시한다. The fourfold stage of meditation(cattaro satipatthana vippasana) and astanga yoga are all means to complete their religious and philosophical goals so it aim to accomplish ‘the ultimate happiness (nibbana, or kaivalya)’ of existence’. To reach that goal, as the attitude of practice, cattaro satipatthana vippasana suggest ‘sampajano-satima( constant thorough understanding and awareness)’ and ‘anissita (look away)’, and astanga-yoga Yoga do abhyasa (effort to maintain) and vairagya (look away). And, ‘satipatthana(establishing of awareness)’ implies that ‘the meditator must actively try to maintain continuous consciousness of mind and body at the level of feeling (vedana)’. When ‘abhyasa’ can be understood, as the meaning of the phrase, that is carried out for a long time, with uninterrupted effort and positively accepting attitude to make the mind stable, ‘satipatthana’ and ‘abhyasa’ are related. Structurally, on the other hands, the astanga yoga can be understood in relation with cattaro satipatthana vippasana. The meditator, while practicing yama and niyama all the time, sitting in ‘a stable and comfortable place (asana)’, observes the phenomenon of body and breathing (asana and pranayama, kayanupassana), the feeling in the feeling (pratyahara, vedananupassana), and the phenomenon of the mind from the mind (dharana, dhyana, samadhi, i.g. samyama, cittanupassana). As a result, he got the wisdom about ‘the one who known prakiti is changing so, that is not a “me” and the one who sees all things, he is a true self, a purusa’(viveka-khyati, dhammanupassana). Simply put, astanga yoga is a systematic description of a process that takes about one to three hours, shorter or longer, straightening the spine, sitting in a stable and comfortable position, focusing on the phenomena taking place in the body and mind. |
