| 摘要 | 이 글은 심우도의 일원상이 지닌 추상성과 메타포의 의미에 대해 탐구하고자 한 글이다. 심우도는 깨달음에 이르는 수행의 과정을 추상적 그림으로 표현한 것이다. 동아시아 선문화의 일원상은 선의 대표적 상징체이다. 일원상이 지니는 상징성의 의미는 심우도의 전개과정 속에서 명확히 드러난다. 문자를 벗어난 반야의 세계를 선화로 그리는 선의 세계에서 일원상이 지니는 의미는 깨달음과 반야의 의미로서 추상성과 메타포의 기능을 하고 있다. 십(十)은 완성을 의미하며 일원상의 완결성과 동일한 의미를 지닌다. 심우도가 추상성이면, 일원상은 추상성의 완성이다. 심우도에서 깨달음의 완성은 일원상으로 표현된다. 선종 수행의 목적은 견성성불이다. 심우도에서 일원상은 불성을 통해 반야 지혜가 드러났음을 의미한다. 오늘날 널리 알려진 심우도는 2가지이다. 하나는 곽암의 십우도, 다른 하나는 보명의 목우도이다. 어려운 선의 깨달음의 세계를 추상적으로 이미지화하여 모든 사람들이 쉽게 인지할 수 있도록 이미지의 공통성과 추상성에 불성과 반야의 세계를 담은것이 일원상이다. 이 글에서 일원상에 내재된 이미지의 무한한 가능성과 긍정성, 깨달음의 세계에 대한 본질적인 측면과 심우도의 일원상이 지니는 추상성과 메타포의 기능을 조명하였다. 더 나아가 일원상이 제시할 수 있는 이미지로서 무한한 가능성에 대한 현대적 해석을 제시하고자 한다. The title of this paper is the One Round Circle(一圓相) of the Ten Ox Herding Pictures(尋牛圖). The subtitle of this paper is the One Round Circle as Abstractness and Metaphor. The Ten Ox Herding Pictures is the process of Seeing One's Nature and Becoming Buddha(見性成佛). In the process of practice, the practitioner seeks the gate of the Prajña that is the gate of the enlightenment. This gate of the Prajña is expressed in The One Round Circle of Ten Ox Herding Pictures. In the step of appearing of The One Round Circle, the Ox is disappeared into the shape of the gate of the Prajña. The Buddha-Nature of Ox is changed into the light of the Prajña with the image of The One Round Circle of Ten Ox Herding Pictures. The One Round Circle of Ten Ox Herding Pictures expresses enlightenment. The One Round Circle in the Eastern Asian Seon Culture is the typical symbol of Seon. The meaning of symbol in the One Round Circle is clearly expressed in the process of ten step in Ox Herding Pictures. The world of Prajña(般若) is outside of letter. The world of Prajña is the world of Seon. In the world of Seon, the meaning of symbol in the One Round Circle has the function of enlightenment and Prajña as the Abstractness and Metaphor. There are many research and paper in the field of Ox Herding Picture. There is, however, no research to investigate to connect the idea of Seon and meaning of image about the One Round Circle in view point of the Ox Herding Picture. The More studies about One Round Circle to lead image and symbol in this societies is required. |
