| 摘要 | 현대인들은 다변화된 사회에서 개인의 힘으로 감당할 수 없는 자연재해와 각종 사회현실의 난제들을 접한다. 또한, 주변에서 소외되고 도움이 필요한 사람들을 마주하게 되면 곧바로 도움을 주지 못하는 안타까움으로 연민을 느끼게 된다. 이러한 상황에서 고통이라는 심리적 감정을 공유하는 것은 불교 윤리의 자비(慈悲) 사상에서 비(悲)의 정서적 공감에 의한 연기(緣起) 윤리라 할 수 있다. 이것은 자(慈)의 자애심을 자신을 비롯한 일체 생명체로 향하게 하며, 비(悲)라는 공감의 연기 윤리로 모든 생명체가 고통에서 멀어지기를 바라는 것이다. 현재 서양 학자들 사이에서 자비의 정의는 명확히 일치하지 않지만, 대체로 자비를 ‘어떤 대상에 대한 사랑과 고통을 공명하는 것’이라고 한다. 이것은 불교 윤리에서 공감에 대한 연기적 윤리관과 같은 맥락이라고 볼 수 있다. 본 논문은 자비라는 불교 윤리의 특성을 토대로 자(慈)의 자리적 특성과 비(悲)의 공감적 연기 윤리를 고찰한다. 이를 통하여 자신을 비롯하여 모든 생명체가 고통에서 멀어지고 더욱더 행복에 가까워질 수 있는 자리이타(自利利他) 정신을 불교 윤리의 관점에서 살펴보려 한다. Modern people face a variety of natural disasters and challenges that individuals cannot deal with in social life. In addition, when you meet people who are alienated and in need of help in the surrounding environment, you immediately feel emotional pain from regret that you cannot help. In this situation, sharing the psychological emotions of pain can be said to be dependent origination ethics based on the emotional empathy of compassion in the kindness of love and Buddhist ethics. This directs the mercy of Loving Kindness(mettā) to all living things, including himself, and hopes that all living things will be freed from pain through the dependent origination ethics of sympathy and empathy. This paper examines the characteristics of Loving-kindness(mettā) and Compassion (kāruṇa) in Buddhist ethics. Through this, Buddhist ethics based on empathy is considered. It is an attempt to examine the spirit of The perfecting of self for perfecting others through Buddhist ethics in which all living things, including oneself, escape from pain and approach happiness. |
