| 摘要 | This paper will focus on the initial structural pattern of monasteries and throw a flash of light on the importance of art and architecture as the two sides of the same coin. Every monastery in Ladakh is installed with wall paintings and other different fine arts with a unique architecture, both of these are the soul of monasteries in Ladakh. It will also discuss how in one’s absence the other is incomplete and both are interdependent. My work will also focus on the origin and evolution of art in the architecture of Ladakh monasteries which developed particularly during the 10th century with the advent of great translator Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo from Tibet who built about 108 monasteries in Ladakh and its peripheral areas. It discusses the art and architecture of Alchi temple particularly which is the root of development of art in Ladakh, and sees what kind of changes takes place with the course of time in Ladakh. It will also bring how the strong influence of the art gradually merged with the culture and the custom of the people in Ladakh. It also discuss how people practice an art and architecture in the present time which plays a big role in the economic factor in their life and boost the tourism sector in modern era. |
