| 摘要 | 본 연구는 불교문화와 인물에 관한 연구의 일환으로 김일엽, 불교, 문학, 동아시아, 근대, 문화인에 관한 관심에서 비롯했다. 김일엽과 소만수는 승려 문인으로 변혁과 혼란의 근대를 살고 간 인물이다. 두 인물의 삶과 문학작품 분석을 통하여 불교 귀의의 의미와 문학적 가치를 제고한다. 먼저 두 인물의 생애 궤적 가운데 불교와 관련된 출가와 수행을 고찰한다. 특히 소만수의 경우 기존 연구에서는 퇴영적으로 평가하지만, 결국엔 불교로 귀환했다는 점을 부각한다. 다음으로 두 인물의 문학적 성취를 고찰한다. 김일엽과 소만수는 시, 소설, 서간문 등 다양한 장르의 문학작품을 남겼다. 본 고는 시 작품을 대상으로 제한하며, 김일엽의 독창성과 소만수의 균형성에 주목하여 시 문학적 특성을 고찰한다. 본 연구로 도출한 김일엽과 소만수의 공통점은 근대를 마주하는 교육과 계몽, 생애 전반에 걸친 불교 수행자로서의 견지, 시문 창작법에 있어서 전통과 혁신의 조화 세 가지로 요약된다. This study is part of a study on Buddhist culture and characters, and stems from interest in Kim Iryŏp, Buddhism, literature, East Asia, Modernity, and Cultural people. Kim Iryŏp and Su Manshu are monk writer, who lived in the modern era of transformation and confusion. The meaning and literary value of turning to Buddhism are enhanced through the analysis of the lives of the two characters and literary works. First, we consider entering the Buddhist priesthood and practicing Buddhism among the lifetime of the two characters. In particular, in the case of Su Manshu, it is emphasized that he eventually returned to Buddhism, which was evaluated passively in previous studies. Next, we examine the literary achievements of the two characters. Kim Iryŏp and Su Manshu write works of various genres, including poems, novels, and epigraphs. The study is limited to poetic works and consider to the originality of Kim Iryŏp and the balance of Su Manshu. The commonalities between Kim Iryŏp and Su Manshu derived from this study are summarized into three things: education and enlightenment facing modern times, perspective as a Buddhist practitioner throughout life, and harmony of tradition and innovation in poetry creation. |
