| 摘要 | School education is designed to foster respect for social and cultural diversity and to cultivate citizens of strong character. Upon completion of their studies, students are expected to become proud citizens of Nepal, knowledgeable of its art, culture, heritage, and philosophy, and to contribute to the building of a peaceful and equitable society. Prince Siddhartha, born in Lumbini, Nepal, is renowned for his teachings of truth, non-violence, compassion, and peace, which have spread throughout the world as Buddhist philosophy. Gautam Buddha and Buddhist philosophy are integral to Nepal's identity, as are the Buddhist heritage sites of Kapilvastu, Lumbini, Devadah, Ramgram, Boudhanath, and Swayambhunath. Unfortunately, many Nepalese are unable to recognize and appreciate the value of Buddha, Buddhist philosophy, and Buddhist heritage, thus depriving the nation of the benefits that could be derived from them. This article will analyze the contents and effectiveness of the Buddhist-related subjects included in Nepal's school curriculum and suggest new plans for the expansion of Buddhist education. It will also help in making new plans for the expansion of Buddhist education and developing Buddhist tourism. |
