| 摘要 | This paper reviews Paulo Freire’s concept of critical pedagogy and critical spiritual pedagogy in the TaittiriyaUpanishad, one of the Upanishads in Hinduism, and in Buddhism. Main objective of the study is to show the fact how people applied critical pedagogy in their education in ancient Hindu communities and how the concept of critical spiritual pedagogy emerges in Buddhist studies. Interaction with teachers, meditation, contemplation, penance and some other activities are among them by which they have better learning and enlightenment. These activities develop critical consciousness, a way to solve many daily life problems.SikshaValli and BhriguValli are two of the three parts of the Taittiriya Upanishadin which we find basics of education- interaction, contemplation, critical consciousness and solving problems. Lord Buddha’s observation of the world and, by the process meditation, getting enlightenment or getting all answers to his questions suggest us the significance of critical spiritual pedagogy. This is the development of Freire’s critical pedagogy. This review justifies that critical spiritual pedagogy has been an ancient practice in Hindu and Buddhist communities. |
