| 摘要 | Nepal is the birthplace of Shakyamuni Buddha and Buddhism has been in practice since his time. Historical evidence reveals that Vajrayana Buddhism has been practiced in Nepal Maṇḍala for over 1500 years. The Cakrasamvara Vajravārāhī initiation is the main and highest initiation practice of Nepal Maṇḍala. The Mahāvihāra of Kathmandu Valley consists of one of the Vajrayoginī shrines, which is kept in āgam in a secret room. Four popular Vajrayoginī shrines in Nepal Maṇḍala are Vajrayoginī (Khadgayoginī) in Sānkhu, Guheśvarī Nairātmā near Pashupatināth Temple, Vidhyādhārī Vijeśvarī near Svayambhū Mahācaitya, and Vajrayoginī in Pharping. In this article, an attempt is made to explore the origin of Vajrayoginī in historical and mythological accounts in the context of Buddhism in Nepal maṇḍala. |
