| 摘要 | This article has tried to analyze Abhinash Shrestha’s “Monologue” by applying Buddhism and its principal assets which would help the victims of the insurgency and similar other events relieve from the pain and suffering or trauma they have got in their life. It shows through the characters of the story which can have some dimension to the actual victims. People during the decade-long conflict were badly inflicted by the fatal consequences from which they could hardly get over. Among some important tenets of Buddhism, important tenets of selfcompassion has been taken a tool to analyze the text and it can be applied to heal the trauma of the conflict-ridden societies in which victims still anticipate for peace and stability. Different measures were taken to help them get over, however, following some meditative aspects of Buddhism, one can get relief from the mental shock which has been imprinted in mind for a long time. To apply Buddhism in literary text, the main focus of the article would not be to enforce eh readers to leave home and to take refuge to the monasteries. In contrast, it has highlighted self compassion as an important tenet of Buddhism to understand human suffering and its healing aspects to get relief for the victims who is/are narrated in this story. |
