| 摘要 | China is a multi-religious country that is nursed by three major religions. Among the Asian countries, China and its culture are prominent topics among scholars because the culture of China has been built up by the religions for many centuries. Firstly, Taoism and Confucianism were the main philosophies that were followed by the Folk as their main religions. Later Buddhism was introduced and it also became a part of Chinese culture. In the current society, Christianity and Islam have also become prominent religions like the aforesaid three. As a multireligious country, the Chinese have chances to study and follow the main religions in the world. However, Buddhism has become more popular than other religions. No one can talk about Chinese culture or religious influence avoiding Buddhism or Buddhist influence. Therefore, Chinese Buddhism and its growth is the main idea of this paper. Origin and expansion, fluctuation epochs, royal patronage to Buddhism, monastic community, and trends are being discussed. |
