| 摘要 | Ratna is rendered with diverse denominations such as Jewel, Gem, Treasures, Diamond and Precious stone. It occupies wide range of space in Buddhism. The precious substance, Ratna has also played vital role in the Newar Buddhism. Tri Ratna, Pancha Ratna, and Navaratna -familiar words in Nepalese Buddhism-symbolize Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, Five Transcendental Buddha and Nine different scriptures respectively. In addition, a set of Four Ratna and Seven Ratna as well as Six syllable Mantra pertaining to Ratna are also describing inner quality of Ratna. The RatnaMadala, Ratnapani Boddhisattva, Ratnasambhava and Vasundhara are particularly related to Ratna. However, here, this article attempts to glorify the historical account and status of Ratna in Newar Buddhism. |
