| 摘要 | The First World Buddhist Summit held in Lumbini from 30th November to 2nd December 1998 proposed to establish a Buddhist university in Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, to impart: Buddhist Philosophy, Buddhist Literature, Buddhist Culture Eventually, Lumbini Buddhist University was established on 29th November 2004. It is named after the birthplace of the Buddha, Lumbini. Lumbini is one of the four holy sites of Buddhism. They are: Lumbini, the birthplace; Bodhagaya, the site of enlightenment; Sarnath, where he delivered the First Sermon; and Kushinagara, where Buddha reached Parinirvana (passed away). |
