| 摘要 | 운암 김성숙의 정치관 속에 투영된 불교사상과 그 변용은 어떠한 양상일까. 김성숙은 출가하여 전통적인 불교교육을 받고, 중국으로 유학을 떠난다. 이후 현대적인 정치경제학을 공부하고 사회주의 운동, 독립운동, 그리고 해방 이후 통일운동을 통해 일생을 국가와 민족에게 헌신하며, 동시에 일생을 통해 다양한 스펙트럼의 사상을 보여준다. 그러나 그의 정치사상에 불교적 영향이 다양하게 투영되어 있다. 자료적인 근거를 가지고 특정한 불교사상의 영향을 받았다고 논할 수는 없지만 그의 정치사상에 불교적 가치가 강하게 내재되어 있다는 점을 다양한 분석을 통해 확인할 수 있다. 그가 추구한 것은 민본과 무저항 비폭력의 민주공화국을 건설하는 것이었다. 그러한 국가 건설의 전제조건이 민족의 독립과 자존이며, 해방 이후에는 민족적 정치적 통일이었다. 그리고 이러한 김성숙의 사상 속에서 불교의 자비사상에 입각한 정치관, 사회관을 살펴볼 수 있었으며, 다른 한편으로 화엄사상이나 선사상에서 중시하는 원융사상의 영향도 살펴볼 수 있다. 그것은 대립과 갈등을 넘어 통합과 회통을 지향하는 것이었다. 그의 정치사상에 투영된 불교적 영향은 순수한 불교, 그 자체라 말할 수는 없다. 서구에서 들어온 현대적인 학문 내지 정치철학과 불교가 결합한 것일 수도 있으며, 아니면 불교사상이 현대사회에 필요한 만큼 변용된 것일 수도 있다. 그러나 무상한 현실을 감안한다면 훈고학적 전통에 묶여 있는 것보다는 실용적으로 변용되는 것이 필요하며, 그것이 대중의 요구와 구원을 위해 필요한 것이라면, 오히려 그것이 부처님의 가르침에 한 발자욱 더 다가가는 것이 아니었을까 생각된다. 그런 점에서 김성숙의 일생은 다사다난했지만 불교적 가치를 실현하기 위해 평생을 헌신했다고 평가하더라도 결코 손색이 없는 훌륭한 불교운동가였다고 평가할 수 있다. I tried to look into about the Buddhism thought reflected in the politics of Unam Kim seong suk and the metamorphosis. He became entering the priesthood and took traditional Buddhism education and then he left to study abroad to China. After studying modern politics, economics, socialist movement, and the independence movement, then He devoted himself to a nation and race through the unity movement after the liberation. At same time, He showed the thought of various spectrum through the all his life. But Buddhism influence is reflected at his politics thought variously. I can not discuss with the basis to be the data in that he took the influence of specific Buddhism thought. His politics thought is inhered Buddhism value strongly and I can confirm the point through various analysis. His politics thought might have been erected at the foundation of Buddhism thought and whether it is possible to be a pointless argument. His pursuit was to build a democratic republic of democracy and non-violent and non-resistance. The prerequisite condition of such nation construction is the self-respect with the independence of the race. It was a national and political unity after the liberation. In the thought of such Kim-seong suk, I could look into a political and social view which bases on at the mercy thought of Buddhism. On the other side, I could look into the part of a complete fusion with considering the value of The Avatamska sutra or Zen thought. It was to intend the unity and fusion over opposition and trouble. Buddhism influence which is reflected at his politics thought was genuine Buddhism but it could not say itself. Modern study in Western Europe or political philosophy may be combined Buddhism and either the Buddhism thought can be the metamorphosis as much necessary to the modern society. but considering evanescent actuality, it need to become the metamorphosis practically than in binding exhortation tradition. If it is to need for masses's requirement and salvation, Rather it is considered to approach one step more for teaching of Buddha. In that sense, the life of Kim-seong suk was eventful, but he devoted to realize Buddhism value through his lifetime. I can evaluate that he was ever great Buddhist activist and it would never be inferior to evaluate. |
