Nevertheless folk religion takes the angular point of religion temporally and the basis of religion spatially, it is not acknowledged as religion. However, folk religion is also acknowledged as a religion when it is accepted as ‘a religion as a religious system’, not ‘philosophical system’. Shamanism, well established with religious system among folk religions, can be treated equally as Buddhism. Shamanistic shrine not only enshrines the statue of Buddha in the center, but also puts up a sign, ‘00temple’, like a temple. By arranging the appearance of a temple, it prepares the status of religion, using it as a means of Shamanistic business. To see religious epic song of Shamanism, ‘Changsega’ introduces Mireuk and Sakyamuni, singing irrationality of real world blaming Sakya’s greed who unfairly occupied Mireuk world. The reason why Sakya was negatively perceived, differently from Mireuk was, because Mireuk is Buddha of the past who created the world in the beginning, however it became Buddha of the future, being pushed out by Sakya. Accordingly, distortion of Sakya in Shamanism was based on the Buddhist doctrine in some aspect. In Jeseokgut, divinity of Buddhism is seated with Shamanistic god offering Jeseoksin, to display religious subjection. However, Byeolsingut of Seseubmu( hereditary shaman) is not occupied by Buddhism, adding Buddhist monk cops and robbers Play, however, it satirizes Buddhist monks’ mendicancy by comparing it with theft, as a religious competitor. Shamanism affirms divinity of Buddhism, however it reveals a dual cognition by negatively treating Buddhist monks’ behaviors. Buddhism also enshrines Musin in the temple, however it builds and enshrines Jeongak nearby the temple, differently from Sindang(shaman god-room), which enshrined the statue of Buddha in the center. The point that the temple enshrines Musin could be considered as one of the altruistic behavior embracing the folk religion of the world, beyond Buddhism fundamentalism, on the other hand, it is also understood as a method of strategical Buddhism intending to draw the women to the temple to make Buddhists. Recently, they perform ancestral rites or village ritual. Also, Buddhist monks counsel about the fortune with their knowledge of Myungrihak, personology, and geomantic studies. This way, such aspect of Buddhism pandering to folk religion is secularization of Buddhism. Buddhism and Shamanism share four factors. First, they share religious target, however, Shamanism centralizes Buddhism according to religious status, while Buddhism sets Shamanism around Shamanism. Second, they share fortune |
