| 摘要 | Theravada Buddhism employs nine methods in arguing for existence of the next life. They are: [1] Tathagatabodhisaddha argument [2] Dependent Origination argument [3] Comparison argument [4] Empirical argument [5] Samsara argument [6] Three worlds argument [7] Four origin of birth argument [8] Six abhinna argument and [9] Pragmatic argument. All nine argumentative methods are rational according to both Eastern and Western logics, and can be categorized into two types: [1] directed at believers [2] directed at non-believers. Both types can be applied to the rational learning and teaching about the next life, and are guiding principles for practice on this matter in the present society. |
