Ketercapaian dalam melakukan interaksi sosial dipengaruhi oleh daya tutur yang dihasilkan partisipan. Tulisan ini mendeskripsikan daya tutur ilokusi yang terkandung dalam Pesan Waisak yang disampaikan oleh Bhiksu Tadisa Paramita Mahasthaira. Data tulisan ini diperoleh dari sumber kepustakaan, yakni majalah Harmoni edisi ke-38. Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa tindak tutur asertif paling banyak digunakan dalam merealisasikan pesan Waisak tersebut. Selanjutnya, tindak tutur direktif dan deklaratif juga menjadi sarana untuk merealisasikan tujuan penutur. Sementara itu, tindak tutur ekspresif dan komisif tidak ditemukan. Perbedaan kuantitas penggunaan tindak tutur merepresentasikan fenomena alami dari peristiwa tutur sesuai dengan tujuan sosialnya.
Achievement in social interaction is influenced by the speech produced by the participants. This paper describes the illocutionary speech contained in the Message of Vesak delivered by Bhiksu Tadisa Paramita Mahasthaira. The data of this paper is obtained from the literature source, the 38th edition of Harmoni magazine. From the results of data analysis, it was found that assertive speech acts were most used in realizing the message of Vesak. Furthermore, directive and declarative speech acts also become a means to realize the goals of speakers. Meanwhile expressive and commissive speech acts were not found. Differences in the quantity of use of speech acts represent natural phenomena of speech events according to their social goals.
