| 摘要 | Buddhism is known by the term Buddha Dharma spread out all over the world. Today Buddhism is group into the three sections. The fist is called the Vinaya Pitaka bearing on the role and regulation of the members of the Sangha, the second part is Sutra Pitaka contains the discourses of the Buddha, and the last is Abhidharma Pitaka, that is a Buddhist sermon on various phenomena of mind and psychology. After Buddha Parinirvana, the Buddhist followers (Sangha) began to disintegrate and began to establish various schools of Buddhism. Today there are two great schoool that flourish in the world, those are Mahayana and Theravada. Mahayana flourishes with the teachings of Abhidharma Pitaka which emphasizes on meditation and contemplation of the six sense bases. In Abhidharmakosa Bhiksu Vasubandhu explains that when man contemplates the six sense bases correctly it will be able to control the mind and can be free from attachment to sensual lust and can realize Nirvana. The six sense bases (sayalatana) clarify about nama and rupa that is an explanation of the performance of the senses of the mind, the sense of smell, the sense of hearing, the sense of touch, the sense of the eye and the sense of taste. Each of the senses has its own function but is related to each other. The senses that control all these senses are the mind. Any impression that appears will be conveyed to the mind. If the six senses can be controlled properly then sensual desire can be controlled, and otherwise, if the senses are not controlled, the sensual desire will affect the mind, it would bring the suffering up. In Abhidharmakosa explained when one understands how to control the senses of the six senses, then can practice the meditation of insight (Vipassana Bhavana) that lead to gain the absolute-supramundane happiness (Nirvana). |
