| 摘要 | 본고는 세 가지 상호 연관된 주제를 다룬다. (1) 현대 생태사상의 등장을 역사적으로 살펴본다. 여기서는 환경문제를 바라보는 초기의 시각을 소개하고, 현대 생태사상의 특징적 경향을 네 가지로 나누어 서술하고 있다. 그리고 필자의 비판적 관점으로 ‘이성비판으로 환경문제를 해결할 수 있을까?를 질문한다. 다음으로 (2) 생태계 위기 시대의 종교의 역할을 다룬다. 여기서는 주로 (아펠 류의) 보편윤리의 한계를 지적하고, 종교와 윤리의 상보성을 강조함으로써, 윤리의 실천으로서의 종교의 역할을 논한다. 이어서 (3) 본고의 핵심주제인 “생태학적 불교의 가능성”을 타진한다. 여기서는 우선 ‘불교생태학’이라는 개념에 대해 살펴보고, 현대, 탈현대, 반현대의 조건 하에서 ‘생태학적 불교의 가능성’을 전망한 다음, 결론에서는 “생태 불교적 합리성”을 찾는 일이 필요하다는 결론으로 끝맺는다. I want to consider in this paper three interrelated themes. (1) I would deal first with the historical appearance of modern ecological thoughts. I will introduce here their early viewpoints of environmental problems, describe four characteristic tendencies of modern ecological thoughts, and ask on the basis of my critical points “can we resolve the environmental issues through the philosophical critique of reason?” But I won’t refer to the complex philosophical discourses around the ecological philosophy. (2) And then we can ask: “Could the religion(Buddhism) just reply to the ecological crisis?” So I’d like to prove the role of religion in the age of ecological crisis. For this aims indicating instead of the limits of universal ethics (namely Karl-Otto Apel), and emphasizing the reciprocity of religion and ethics, the author argues the role of religion as a practice of ethics. (3) The Author try to sound “the possibility of ecological Buddhism”, that is the core themes of this paper. I oppose explicitly the conception of “Buddhist Ecology.” I assert that the concept, Buddhist Ecology is in a certain meaning nonsense. I propose instead of that, more plausible and sound concept in part at least, ecological Buddhism. Under the condition of the modernity, post-modernity, and anti-modernity I will prospect the possibility of ecological Buddhism. The possibility of ecological Buddhism depends on completely arguments and justifications of its rationality. This is my conclusion in this paper. |
