The acad emic research on Buddhist recluse organization since modern times involves diverse topics of development,operation, modernization, etc. It’s mostly done from the perspective of history, religious studies and philosophy. There are some defects in the existing research: a small quantity; few empirical studies; no studies at multiple levels. The academic should pay attention to research on the Buddhist recluse organization, give full play to the advantages of empirical methods, and do research on recluse organization more comprehensively
