Français: Le Poème de la prédiction sur la fin d’Ayudhya pose un double problème. Il s’agit d’abord de se poser la question de sa datation et de son auteur, puis de sa nature. Ayant examiné sa forme et les différentes hypothèses proposées par les rares chercheurs qui s’y sont intéressés, nous penchons pour une composition postérieure à la chute d’Ayudhya. Ensuite, nous considérons que nous ne sommes pas en présence d’une prédiction mais plutôt d’un texte de morale destiné aux monarques, inspirée du mahāsupinajātaka.
English: The Poem of the Prediction on the Fall of Ayudhya poses a double question. It is first of all the questions of its datation and of its author, and then of its nature. Having examined its poetic form and the different hypotheses proposed by the few researchers interested in it, we are inclined to a composition subsequent to the fall of Ayudhya. Next, we consider that we are not in presence of a prediction but rather of a moral text intended for monarchs, inspired by the mahāsupinajātaka.
