본 논문은 골굴사와 선무도의 축전문화콘텐츠 개발에 대해 살펴보았다. 골굴사의 역사를 사료에 근거하여 살펴보고, 골굴이란 명칭의 의미를 유추해보았다. 선무도의 현대적 역사를 정리하고 선무도의 구성을 살펴보았다. 선무도는 화랑과 승군 및 수행승들에 의해 전승되었던 것으로 추정된다. 현대 선무도는 1960년대 양익스님에 의해 체계화된 불교금강영관을 1984년 적운스님이 현대인들에 맞게 이름을 바꾼 것이다. 양익스님의 제자들에 의해 널리 대중화되고 있다. 선무도는 크게 앉아서 하는 좌관법(坐觀法), 서서하는 입관법(立觀法), 움직이면서 하는 행관법(行觀法)으로 구성되어 있다. 골굴사 선무도 축전인 전통무예대회의 역사와 현황, 지리적 환경을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 골굴사와 선무도의 축전문화콘텐츠 개발과 관련하여, 축전의 고유성을 살릴 수 있는 세가지 방안을 제시하였다. 세 가지는 축전의 네이밍 재고, 축전의 공간 구성, 축전 콘텐츠 개발이다. 첫째, 축전 네이밍의 변경이다. 현재 사용하고 있는 이름은 “화랑과 승군의 후예 골굴사 전통무예대회”이고, 영문 네이밍은 ”Korean Traditional Martial Arts Festival”이다. 이들을 아우르는 이름으로 (가칭)“골굴사 선무도 전통무예축전”을 제시하였다. 둘째, 축전의 공간은 골굴사의 자연환경을 고려하여 무대공연마당, 체험마당, 특별이벤트마당, 장터마당, 먹거리마당, 안전교육마당 등 6개로 나눌 것을 제안하였다. 셋째, 축전 콘텐츠 개발로는 깨달음의 근원을 찾아가는 여정을 그린 무언 선무극의 개발, 골굴사의 자연환경을 이용한 실경 공연, 선무도와 오륜탑을 활용한 문화상품 개발, 선무도 수행의 하나인 영정입관을 응용한 명상대회 등을 제시하였다.
This study focuses on the development of the cultural content of the festivals at Golgulsa Temple and Sunmudo. First, this study analyzed the history and geographical environment of Golgulsa Temple and Sunmudo and then summarized the history and current status of the traditional martial arts festival. Next, regarding the development of the cultural content of Golgulsa Temple and Sunmudo, three directions were proposed for the naming of the inventory of the festival, the spatial composition of the festival, and the content of the festival. First, it is the change of the festival's naming. The name we are currently using is the “Hwarang and Seung-gun's Descendant Golgulsa Traditional Martial Arts Festival". The English version of "Korean Traditional Martial Arts Festival" is called. As a name to unify them (tentative name), "Golgulsa Sunmudo Traditional Martial Arts Festival" was presented. Second, considering the natural environment of Golgulsa, the space of the festival was divided into six stages: the stage performances, experiences, special events, marketplaces, food, and safety education. Third, the development of the content of the festival included the development of a silent drama to explore the source of enlightenment, a real performance using the natural environment of the Golgulsa temple, cultural product development using the Sunmudo and Oryun stupa (the five-part stupa), and a meditation contest.
