| 摘要 | In this paper, I discuss the various meanings of inner pasāda (Skt. prasāda) in the Pāli canon. Pasāda has the basic meaning of “to calm” and “to be pure”, and also means “joy,” “satisfaction,” and “faith,” etc. The latter meanings derive from the fact that pasāda can represent positive feelings depending on the context. In the discussion, I point out the possibility that pasāda as “faith” can be explained from the perspective that “doubt,” which is an antonym of “faith,” becomes “calm down” and the mind is “purified”. |
