『Mo-ho chih-kuan(摩訶止觀) 』is known as the compilation of lecture expounded by Chih-i(智顗) in Ok-cheon temple of Hyeong-ju, in the year of 594. But currently existing 『Mo-ho chih-kuan(摩訶止觀) 』 is not the same book which previously stated. It was compiled by Kwan-jeong(灌頂), the disciple of Chih-i(智顗). The first edition of Won-don Chih-kuan(圓頓止觀) with 20 volumes and second edition with 10 volumes which are predecessor of 『Mo-ho chih-kuan(摩訶止觀) 』 . It is Kwan-jeong(灌頂) who is the compiler and editor of currently existing 『Mo-ho chih-kuan(摩訶止觀) 』. The most important work of Chih-i is 『Mo-ho chih-kuan(摩訶止觀) 』 which is estimated as synthetic philosophy, the two wings of bird, two wheel of vehicle. And It shows the character of Buddhist thought which revealed only through practice(caryā), the system of practice(caryā) and the inner state of true feature through caryā. 『Mo-ho chih-kuan(摩訶止觀) 』 , therefore, is the guideline of T'ine t'ai school.
