| 摘要 | 1. Manjusari Bodhisattva Many eminent Bodhisattvas are named in the Sanskrit treaties, such as Manjusri, Avalokitasvara. Samantalahadra, Ratntagarbha, Indrajali etc. The most important bodhisattva is Manjusri who symbolige the perfect wisdom. Manjusri can intenpretate the concept of gentle glory or sweet splendour. Ide is ragardld as a master of wisdom and true knowledge. E. W. Hopkins thinks that Manjusri was a missionery in nothern Indidai but we do not possess any historical data about him. As we already learn the Manjusri as a symbolic existence is personifications of wisdom. 2. Chanjand and his Manjusri belief The famous Buddhist priest cha-jang interpretated the Manjusari Belief in Korea during the early the century. Ide met Manjusari Bodhisattva when he were in china. After returning Silla, he buiet the nine - stonied pagoda in Idwang-Yong sa temple. when he retined, he neached kang - neung vicinity where he built a heamitage eageaing to meet the Manjusari Bodhisattva. Manjusri disguised the hggea's pose. But cha-jang did not necognize and have to listen the insultad to Manjusri "Go! go! Idow can he meet me? still clining to egoistic mind." After the Idwa-yen Buddhism glorised in silla in Middle th century. the Manjusri Belief was the most popular for the mass of silla mind. 3. Conclusion After the Idwa - yen sutra appear in china and korea, it mixed with Mountain Belief. In korea, it stuats with Ven. cha-jang in th century. In korea there are some maxims of Manjusri bodhisattva, but most of them were comic mood and necovering the illness. It continued to the belief of silla Pure Land thought. The wisdom of Manjusri symbolizes the advaita philosophy as well as prajna sacred and profane, death and alire, The conflict between these deep unknowing can make a harmony by his wisdom. |
