Goal of this paper is to examined what do we mean action/work(karma), what are kinds of action, when we act the action how to act, and how can transcends action? An action is to caused from three qualities(tri guṇas), these bind our spirit to body. However no one can remain even for a moment without doing work. every one is made to act helplessly by impulses born of nature. Do you perform work as something necessary and unavoidable. Work, indeed, is superior to what is other than work(i.e., meditation or jñāna yoga). Even the subsistence of the body would become unsuccessful with you remaining without doing work. It is important to act, but to act what’s kinds of action is the better important. The actions are vikarma and akarma. Vikarma can’t act without attachments naturally. Akarma is to having abandoned attachment to fruit of the actions/works(karmas). It is an abandonment(tyāga). It is renunciation(saṅnyāsa) which give up bad [and good] desires as cause or motive of all actions. The state transcending all work(naiṣkarmya) have no desires, with heart and self under control, giving up all possessions with having abandoned attachment to fruit of the actions/works(karmas). Naiṣkarmya is the state transcending all work. It is not a complete withdrawal from all work. Such a quietism is not possible so long as we live in the body. BG insists on inner renunciation. A the ego and nature are akin, the liberated soul becoming Brahman, the Pure Self described as silent, calm, inactive, acts in the world of prakṛti, knowing what the latter is. The highest state is not positively as entering into the Lord but negatively as freedom from desire. The supreme state transcending all work is “he whose understanding is unattached everywhere, who has subdued his self and from whom desire has fled - he becomes through renunciation to the supreme state transcending all work”(BG.18.49). This perfection of the supreme consummation is to attain to the Brahman(BG.18.50). This is supreme consummation of wisdom in the Bhagavdgītā.
