| 摘要 | 『朝鮮佛敎通史』는 어떠한 역사서인가? 『三國遺事』이래로 쓰여진 유일한 불교통사로서 우리에게 익히 알려진 책이다. 그러한 『조선불교통사』는 상중하 3편으로 되어 있다. 상편 ‘佛化時處’, 674면, 중편 ‘三寶源流’, 377면, 하편은 잡항 1248면으로 ‘二百品題’를 담고 있다. 이러한 체계로 원문만 해도 무려 2, 302여 페이지에 달하는 양이라서 그 안에서 大綱을 잡는 것만도 쉽지 않다. 그 가운데에서 상현의 歷史認識을 한 눈에 들여다 볼 수 있는 있는 곳은 자유롭게 이백품제로 제목을 정하고 기술한 下篇이 아닌가 한다. 또한 하편은 조선불교통사 전편을 통하여 ‘尙玄 曰’이 집중적으로 많이 있는 곳이기도 하다. 본고에서는 이러한 하편의 分析을 통하여 『조선불교통사』의 역사인식을 살펴보고자 하였다. 『조선불교통사』 하편의 내용 이해를 위하여 그 전체의 내용을 분석하지 않을 수 없다. 따라서 첫째, 전체 이백품제의 제목을 낱낱이 살펴 그 대강의 내용을 알고자 하였다.둘째, 이를 토대로 경교가 일어난 시대(삼국시대), 선종이 번창하여 일어난 시대(신라말), 선교가 함께 융성한 시대(고려시대), 선교가 통일된 시대(조선시대～대한제국시대), 선교가 세를 유지하기만 한 시대(일제)로 시대를 나누고, 그 분량과 비율을 살펴보았다.(표1-1, 표1-2) 나아가 이백품제를 내용별로 불교사상인물불교신앙신이 영험사적도교 및 기타 종교제도지리일본불교불교문화 예술기사, 사건부정적인 것산업출판, 대장경척불로 나누고 그 각각의 특징을 검토하였다.(표2-1, 표2-2. 표2-3) 셋째, 이능화가 『조선불교통사』를 기술함에 있어 참고한 전거를 종합 검토하여 비문기, 문사적기행장문집교지서, 발문기타로 나누어 살펴보았다.(표3) 이를 종합하여 전체 하편에 흐르고 있는 이능화의 불교사 서술의 특징을 세분하여 살펴보았다. 이러한 작업은 방대한 조선불교통사 하편을 전체적으로 한 눈에 파악하고자 하는 시도였다. 앞으로도 이러한 꾸준한 연구를 통하여 심도있는 조선불교통사의 이해가 이루어지길 바란다. What kind of book is a history of Choseon Buddhism[朝鮮佛敎通史]? This book is known to us twritten about a complete buddhist history after writing Samguk-yousa[三國遺事] It is composed of three volumes that is a history of Choseon Buddhism. The first volume are made of 674pages comprehended a Bulhwashicho[佛化時處] and the middle volume are 377pages included a Sambowonryu[三寶源流], then the last volume are 1,248pages had a EbeakpumJe[二百品題]’ It will be no easy task to find in this book which have a all 2,302pages. But It will be able to look for historical consciousness of the sages that is the last volume of this one. For that very reason I look for historical consciousness through the last volume of a history of Choseon Buddhism. At first I have to analyze of this book totally. Then I understand of contents finding all titles in EbeakpumJe. The second I am acquainted with a quantity and ratio based on all period of Korea. Then I examined all feature thoroughly divided EbeakpumJe into many parts; which is Buddhist thought, persons, divining response, Buddhist faith, Taoism, another religions, geography, Japanese Buddhism, Buddhist culture and civilization, an event and cause, industry and publication, publishing the Tripitaka and an expulsion of Buddhism, and all that. The third I look through dividing several parts based on a history of Choseon Buddhism written with Lee-Nungwha; which is an epitaph, a place records of a deceased person's life, a collection of works, an epilogue and so forth. In this manner way I look around about distinguishing feature based on a history of Choseon Buddhism written with Lee-Nungwha. This task is a trial understanding at a glance about the voluminous work of a history of Choseon Buddhism written with Lee-Nungwha. of a history of Choseon Buddhism I hope with understanding for a history of Choseon Buddhism through studing constantly in our future. |
