| 摘要 | This paper presents a critical edition and annotated translation of the chapter I The extant Sanskrit manuscript of MAVṬ is damaged and incomplete; hence, about one third of it is missing. Yamaguchi restored the missing portion by reconstructing the Sanskrit text from the corresponding Tibetan translation but Yamaguchi’s reconstruction is not necessarily perfect and Bhattacharya-Tucci edition sometimes presents better reconstruction. I tried to improve Yamaguchi’s edition by recovering possible Sanskrit words, phrases and sentences from the portions of this text available in Sanskrit and carefully re-examining the extant Sanskrit manuscript. |
