| 摘要 | The present article aims to re-edit the Sanskrit text of the Nairātmapariprcchā. This text deals with a discourse on the Selflessness between Mahāyāna Buddhists and Tīrthikas. Sylvain Lévi first edited the Sanskrit text, and we shall re-edit it on the basis of Sanskrit palm-leaf manuscript (NGMPP A936/11) that was not utilized by Lévi. Although the Sanskrit manuscript used by Lévi and ours have no significant variants in their readings, there is still a room to improve some readings in the text. We shall also provide an annotated Japanese translation and collate a Tibetan translation and two Chinese translations. Lévi paid attention to the fact that this text is ascribed to Aśvaghoṣa in a Chinese translation, but in view of its contents and style of writing, as Lévi pointed out, it is difficult to ascribe this work to Aśvaghoṣa of the Buddhacarita. |
