삼위일체(三位一體)와 삼신불(三身佛) 사상은 각각 그리스도교와 불교의 핵심교리이다. 그리스도교에서 절대적 위치를 갖는 삼위일체는 니케아-콘스탄티노플 공의회를 통해 지금의 모습을 갖추었다. 삼신불 사상은 초기불교의 이신불설이 유식학파에 의해 삼신불설로 정립되어 오늘에 이르고 있다. 성부·성자·성령의 삼위와 법·응·보신의 삼불은 각각 배대하여 볼 수 있으며 삼위와 삼불의 관계성의 측면에서 비교도 가능하다. 그러나 삼위일체와 삼신불을 각각 일대일 대응시켜 유사점과 차이점을 단순비교 하는 것만이 본고의 주목적은 아니다. 여기서는 삼위일체와 삼신불을 각각 계시(啓示)와 삼매(三昧)의 관점에서 종합하여 두 개념의 접점을 찾아보도록 한다.
This paper synthesizes the Trinity and Trikāya from the perspectives of Revealation and Samadhi. The Holy Trinity of Christianity and the Trikāya in Buddhism are the essential religious teachings. The Holy Trinity holds a central position and was established through the Nicaea-Constantinople Council. Trikāya is organized from the two bodies of theories by Yogācāra. God, Jesus and the Holy spirit can be mechanically compared to Dharmakāya, Nirmāṇakāya and Saṃbhogikakāya. However, this paper analyzes the relationship between the Holy Trinity and the Trikāya in a more comprehensive context. In particular, a new approach to interpret them from the perspectives of Revealation and Samadhi is explored. In addition, this paper also tries to bridge the two seemingly unrelated concepts, Revealation and Samadhi. Such efforts will likely help better understand Christianity and Buddism.
