| 摘要 | Having misread the Fa-hua-ching, the Japanese are convinced that women cannot become buddhas. With this conviction they are compelled to find a way to save hopeless women. Genku (1133-1212) tries to solve this problem on the authority of the Wu-liang-shou-ching: He says that, according to this sutra, Amida-butsu vowed in his previous existence to turn all women into men. |
