By sorting and analyzing the progress and achievements of Mr. Duan Wenjie in copying Dunhuang murals by stages, and through combination with Mr.Duan’s discussions on the line drawing, color application,and expressive techniques of Dunhuang art in different periods, this paper demonstrates Mr.Duan’s method of observation for Dunhuang mural copying and personal achievements of mural copying art, as well as further expounding the characteristics and value of copying Dunhuang mural art.
