The Northern Grotto Temples contains more than 150 inscriptions,which address various matters such as cave construction,renovation,and religious activities,and thus provide valuable written information for studying Buddhist art’s development in the Longdong regions. This study collates the inscriptions hand-copied in 1986 and sorts out 146 readable inscriptions.
