This paper presents an introduction to and an analysis of the surviving "Beast-headed motif" in Cave 69,and holds that the rare building ornaments in the Kizil Grottoes are "Dragon-faced motifs." Quite a few dragon images also survived in the cave,suggesting that dragon culture in ancient Kucha was once very prominent.It also indicates that Cave 69 of the Kizil Grottoes was the Dragon-King Cave supported by the royal family of Kucha in the first half of the 7th century.
