| 摘要 | The brick inscription unearthed from the Eastern pagoda foundation of the Guoningsi temple in Ningbo indicate that the pagoda was constructed in the 3rd year,Xiantong reign,Tang dy- nasty,and that discovered at the northern apron shows the apron’to have been added at the end of the Tang dynasty,in the 3rd year,Tianfu reign.The pagoda foundation was laid by digging a large hollow in the ground,overlaying the bottom with long narrow stones and then building several layers of rammed earth.The brickwork has a plan in the shape of the character"回",the underground palace is absent,and niches in two rows are structured in the ground storey.Here we have an early example of construction of double pagodas in front of a Buddhist temple in an- cient China. The varying Tang tile-ends with lotus-petal design unearthed reflect the close relation of Mingzhou as a southeastern port city.at that time with the culture of the Central Plains and its linking function in Sino-Japanese contacts.The Dehua porcelain and pearl sheeny celadon un- earthed from the Song and Yuan cultural layers imply that part of the porcelain products made in Fujian Were exported to Japan from Mingzhou port. There were discovered Eastern Han and Jin cultural deposits,which provide evidence that long before the seat of Mingzhou prefecture moving there from Yinjiangqiao in the first year of the Changqing reign,Tang dynasty,there had already existed settlements around Sanjiangkou, a hub of water communications. |
